When life feels overwhelming, beginning the process of therapy can feel suffocating. Sometimes clients feel like adding another thing to their to-do list is going to make them fall apart. They know something needs to change, but the thought of trying something new is incomprehensible.
Talisa specializes in supporting individuals who are feeling overwhelmed by stress and burnout. She utilizes an individualized approach throughout the therapeutic process to accommodate each client’s unique experience, needs, and goals for therapy.
Born and raised in Southern Ontario, Talisa has always had a deep appreciation for both home and adventure. Her love for travel and exploration goes hand in hand with her passion for mental health—leading her to create The Journey Counselling and Psychotherapy, a space where clients feel safe, heard, and empowered.
Outside of the therapy room, you’ll often find Talisa traveling the world, kayaking on peaceful waters, getting lost in a great book, or spending quality time with family. She believes in lifelong learning, meaningful connections, and the power of new experiences—values she brings into her work with clients every day.

Outside of her professional life, Brittany is an adventurer at heart. Whether she's paddle-boarding, longboarding, flying, or traveling, she cherishes time spent exploring and creating memories with her loved ones. Her cat, a loyal companion, often brings a touch of joy and connection to her therapy sessions.
Brittany’s therapeutic style is grounded in evidence-based techniques and delivered through a trauma-informed lens. Michaelah Robinson
Equine Therapist
Registered Psychotherapist, MACP
Growing up on a farm on the edge of a small town in Ontario, Canada, Michaelah Robinson (She/Her) learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and leadership from an early age. Immersed in the equestrian world through her involvement in 4H and the Canadian Pony Club, she cultivated a deep understanding of collaboration, adaptability, and connection. Her experiences training horses and coaching riders exposed her to the rich diversity of personalities, strengths, and sensitivities, shaping her compassionate and curious approach to life.
Today, Michaelah brings this unique perspective to her work as an Equine Therapist and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), guiding clients toward self-discovery and growth. When not working, she enjoys playing piano, hiking, cycling, and spending evenings around campfires.
Michaelah’s therapeutic philosophy is rooted in her deep connection to animals and her passion for understanding others. By integrating her equestrian expertise with formal training in psychotherapy, she offers a unique and personalized approach. Michaelah draws on narrative therapy and an eclectic array of techniques to create an environment where clients feel supported and empowered.
Her equine-assisted therapy sessions bridge the gap between mental health and physical connection, fostering growth through teamwork, cross-species understanding, and mindfulness. Whether working with horses or engaging in traditional therapy, Michaelah aligns her approach to each client’s unique processing style and therapeutic goals.
